Wedding & Engagement FAQ’S
Hi there, this is a list of some of the question we have been asked (or should have been asked) from our clients, We hope this answers all of your questions, but if it doesn’t feel free to email us at Studio@studio-pbj.com.
Q: We want to hire you, what do we need to do?
A: Call me at 816-510-6429 or email me at Jaylene@studio-pbj.com with your wedding date and other details, we can arrange to meet and discuss what you are looking for and I can answer any questions you might have. Once you have decided to hire us, we will need to sign a contract and you will need to place a booking fee to hold your date.
Q: What does a wedding session cost?
A: My weekday (M-Th) fee starts at $800 and weekend (F – Su) fee starts at $1100. Contact me for more details. Please call me and I am sure we will be able to find a solution to work within your budget.
Q: Do you carry insurance?
A: Yes we carry insurance and can present a certificate of insurance if your venue requires one.
Q: How much do I need to deposit?
A: I require a30% non refundable booking fee to hold your date and the rest is due on or before the wedding day.
Q: Will you be shooting the wedding?
A: Yes. You are hiring me to shoot the wedding.
Q: Do you shoot with a second photographer?
A: Unless you pick our smallest weekday package, I always shoot with a second, usually it will be my husband, we have a well orchestrated routine that will insure that you have all angles covered at your wedding.
Q: Where are you located?
A: I live in Kansas City, but will travel in both Missouri and Kansas.
Q: Will I receive black and white images?
A: I always shoot in color, but since I shoot digital you will receive some images in black and white. I love the timeless quality of black and white and some images just lend themselves to that medium.
Q: Will I receive all the photos you take?
A: No, I will deliver the best images from your day, primarily the only images you won’t receive are eye blinks, blur or some other problem.
Q: Do you offer video?
A: No I am afraid not, I like to concentrate on the photography and don’t want videography to take away from that.
Q: Who chooses the album images?
A: You have the choice of choosing your images or if you are having trouble choosing I will choose for you, it can be very overwhelming with the number of images you will receive.
Q: Will my images be online?
A: Of course unless that is a problem for you, I love blogging weddings and sharing images on my business’s facebook page.
Q: How much time will the wedding portraits take?
A: It depends on the type of images you want, I recommend at least an hour for the wedding party images, but the more time we have the more images of the bride and groom alone we will get. If this much time isn’t available between the ceremony and reception, I recommend either doing a bridal session before your wedding day, or having a first look before the ceremony and taking care of some of the images then.
Q: Can you help us with the wedding day timeline?
A: If you need help with the timeline I would be more than happy to help you schedule your day, don’t hesitate to ask me questions.
Q: What do your packages include?
A: All packages include the photographers services, digital images on a thumbdrive, a 60 day website for your friends and family to view your images as well as discounts on prints, albums and wall art for up to 6 months after your wedding.
Q: Do you prefer digital or film.
A: We shoot all weddings with digital cameras.
Q: How many photographers do you bring?
A: I (Jaylene) am the primary photographer for all weddings, we generally shoot weddings with two photographers unless you have requested our smallest weekday package.
Q: Do you ever double book yourself?
A: No, we only shoot one wedding per day.
Q: What equipment to you bring to the wedding?
A: Cameras, Lenses, Flash and stands for the lights.
Q: Do you have backup equipment?
A: Of course we do, we have multiple cameras and duplicate lenses so that if there is a problem you will never be aware of it.
Q: What cameras do you use?
A: We shoot with Sony Equipment; A99’s and A77’s.
Q: What times are you available on our wedding day?
A: We are there from the getting ready shots through the major events of the reception (cake cutting, dances, bouquet and garter toss).
Q: What forms of payment are accepted?
A: Check, Cash and Credit Cards through Paypal.
Q: Do you charge for out of town weddings?
A: It depends on where the wedding is, we have no problem traveling anywhere in the MO/KS area, if the distance is to far we will charge a small fee, please call and discuss your needs.
Q: How soon after our wedding will we see our images.
A: Typically we will post a sneak peek on facebook the evening of your wedding, and then we will have your images fully edited within 3-6 weeks of the wedding date depending on the season. Since we edit each image that you will get it can be a time consuming process.
Q: What kind of albums do you offer?
A: We have two album lines, signature and standard with various sizes and pages available.
Q: How long til we receive our album?
A: After we finish editing your images we will put them in a gallery for you to choose the ones you want in your album, then it will take us up to two weeks to design the album, after you okay the design it will be available in roughly three weeks.
